Ricardo Guerra Tejada

Ricardo Guerra Tejada (10 February 1927 – 30 May 2007) was a philosopher, journalist, diplomat, and civil servant. Considered in many circles an incisive, deep, critical, and dialectic thinker, Guerra was known as a leader of great moral, academic, and political strength.
Ph.D. from the University of Paris; also conducted doctorate studied in Germany. Founder of the Grupo Hyperión, the country's first philosophical association (1947).
He served two terms as directory of the Faculty of Philosophy, 1970–1974 and 1974–1978. He was an educator of generations of philosophers in Mexico.
He was the Mexican ambassador to the German Democratic Republic, 1978–1983.
He founded the Morelos Cultural Institute in 1989 and was its first director, till 1994. After that, he founded the Center for Research and Teaching of the Humanities of Morelos and led it until the year of his death in 2005.
In 2005 he received the National University Prize from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
